Product Description
Series High Voltage Explosion-Proof Motor
Series High Voltage Explosion-Proof Motor

Specializing in high quality energy-efficient electric motors. The combination of the best available materials, high quality sheet metal and the right amount of copper in the rotor/stator makes these electric motors highly energy-efficient.

Our electric motors are designed to fit and match specific requirements. They can be supplemented with a range of options and accessories or modified with a special design to endure any environment.

⚡ Energy Efficiency Standards

Electric motors account for about 65 percent of the electricity used in industry. To reduce consumption, legal requirements regarding efficiency apply to motors manufactured or exported into the EU. According to standard, energy efficiency classes are designated as IE1, IE2, IE3 and IE4, where IE4 represents the highest efficiency.

Revision of the Standard

The Ecodesign Committee published a revision on October 1, 2019, with the following applications:

From July 1, 2021

  • 2, 4, 6 and 8-pole motors (0.75 - 1000 kW) included in class IE3.
  • Motors within 0.12 - 0.75 kW must meet IE2.
  • IE3 replacement options for IE2 with frequency drives discontinued.

From July 1, 2023

  • IE2 applies to Ex eb certified motors with high safety.
  • Single phase motors > 0.12 kW covered by IE2 class.
  • IE4 applies to 2, 4 and 6-pole motors (75 - 200 kW).

Directive Requirements & Exemptions

Since 2017, all motors 0.75 - 375 kW (2, 4, and 6-pole) must meet IE3 requirements, or IE2 if combined with frequency inverters.

Exemptions Include:
  • Non-continuous drive operations (S1/S3 with < 80% cyclicity).
  • Motors fully integrated into products (gears, pumps, fans).
  • Operation in liquid or explosive atmospheres.
  • Extreme temperatures (>60°C or <-30°C) or high altitudes (>4000m).
  • Brake motors and specific maritime transport engines.
